Zephyr Point Day 4 from Sew'n Wild Oaks Quilting Blog

 Hello Everyone,

Not much commentary today, just a lot of images to share. We're packing up and saying goodbye to our magical corner of Lake Tahoe, so the morning’s full of tasks. Here’s a visual recap of yesterday’s moments.

Diane's Calico Cottages is so beautiful!
Diane used an old doily for her label.

Not only quilting but garment making in the room.

Paula's Party in the Garden. I first met Paula when she was in my class ages ago for this quilt.

Gail's Christmas Ribbons.
Gail's Winterset on steroids.
Nancy's baby ...

Zephyr Point Day Three from Sew'n Wild Oaks Quilting Blog

 Hello Everyone,

Here’s a glimpse into the show-and-tell magic from the Sew’n Wild Oaks retreat. These talented women continue to astound me with their exquisite craftsmanship and boundless creativity. So, without further ado, enjoy your complimentary morning quilt show!

Several of us start our day with our morning brew at Cabin 28. There's a chill in the air in the air, but it warms up nicely during the day.

The food has been absolutely delicious.  We have three meals a day in this beautiful dining room.

We have daily raffles, and Gerri had the best reaction when ...

Zephyr Point Day Two from Sew'n Wild Oaks Quilting Blog

 Hello Everyone,

It was 6:45am and the lake, the quilters, and the Tallac Center were starting to wake up and greet the day.  A few of us walked over to the little coffee shop called Cabin 28 to get our specialty coffee and tea. The air is crisp and there's a strong feeling of fall surrounding us.

After breakfast, the quilters started to decorate the walls with their artwork. The beauty on the inside of the room matched the beauty on the outside.

This is actually going to be a reversible Christmas Tree skirt.  Barbara's family member ...

Zephyr Point Retreat Day One from Sew'n Wild Oaks Quilting Blog

 Hello Everyone,

Revving our engines like Grand Prix racers, six of us made our way to Lake Tahoe, ready to kick off the Sew’n Wild Oaks retreat with heart, hustle, and a whole lot of fabric.

The sky and the day were beautiful for our 3-hour drive to the lake.

Our destination was the Presbyterian Retreat Center at Zephyr Point—our home base for stitching, storytelling, and a little joyful chaos. I’ll take a photo today of our room, bursting at the seams with people and projects. And the best part? We can swing open the doors and ...

Bridle Path Under the Stars from Sew'n Wild Oaks Quilting Blog

 Hello Everyone,

One of the true delights of designing patterns is seeing how quilters around the world make them their own. I recently received a photo from a talented quilter in France who made my Bridle Path pattern with a beautiful twist—she swapped out the house blocks for stars, adding her own sparkle to the design. What a joy to see creativity cross borders! She's calling this Bridle Path Under the Stars.

The stars dance across the quilt in their beautiful colorway.

Here's the creator peeking around the side of this gorgeous quilt.

I received these beautiful ...

A Precious Story from Sew'n Wild Oaks Quilting Blog

 Hello Everyone,

I'm going to tell you just the sweetest story of a wonderful happening at the retreat at Lake Tahoe.

I have to go back and lay some groundwork.  I grew up in Paradise, CA, the infamous town that burned to the ground in 2018.  Our home, which had been in the family for six decades burned to the ground.  Luckily the renters living there were able to escape the flames and got to safety.  My son loved that little cottage in the woods and planned on moving there when he retires from his job with the city ...

More Quilting Inspiration from Sew'n Wild Oaks Quilting Blog

 Hello Everyone,

Here are some more images showcasing the creativity of this amazing group of women at the retreat at Zephyr Point.   There was a parade of Bridle Path quilts.  Barbara showed off her quilt with the incredible border she created.

Barbara's creative addition of the border was amazing.

Melody finished her quilt....and she was quick to point out that she finished before her best friend Barbara!

Debbie finished her quilt too. I LOVE seeing all of these finished beauties!

Several of the girls were making their blocks for Bridle Path.  I'm sorry I didn't take ...

Quilting Inspiration at Inspiration Point from Sew'n Wild Oaks Quilting Blog

 Hello Everyone,

I spent a wonderful five days at Zephyr Point at beautiful Lake Tahoe at my Sew'n Wild Oaks Quilting Retreat.

This was our workroom for the duration of the retreat. Our bedrooms were on the same floor which was so convenient.

This group of women are so special!  I would sit at my workspace and listen to the chatter and hear spontaneous laughter erupt around the room.

I start each day of the retreat with an inspirational saying.  My friend, Karen, sent me this during the retreat and this says it all!
Our work area was spacious ...
